Hello! My name is REM Linton

and I have been doing makeup professionally since 2022. Although I haven't been doing this professionally very long, I have been experimenting with makeup since I was about 15 or 16 years old. through the years I have learned how to do anything from glam to editorial to special effects. Makeup is my passion, and I am always striving to learn more so I can do the best I can and more.
Let's talk about what got me to where I am...
I've always loved makeup as a child. There are cursed photos of me at the age of 7 or so with bright blue eyeshadow dragged across my eyes and red sloppy lipstick on my lips. I begged my mom to let me wear mascara and eyeliner at school and eventually she gave in. I taught myself how to do winged eyeliner and then there was no stopping me. they allowed me to get some eyeshadow palettes and I went crazy. I started working on my blending and I did some looks that I'm proud of, even to this day. I continued to do my makeup, using what I had and slowly building up my makeup supply; then, 2020 hit.

During quarantine, I was bored just like everyone else. this is when i started doing makeup daily. I started to experiment with editorial looks and lots of blending and just more fun looks. I Started a makeup account on Instagram and started posting all of my

looks. I've never had much luck with Instagram, but I still stick with it because you never know. in the spring of 2021, my makeup style changed. It got edgier, more in your face. I shaved my eyebrows into little baby brows so I could make my eyeshadow as big as possible. I started working with face painting and turning myself into different characters. this was when makeup got really fun for me. Although I am not happy that quarantine happened, I am grateful for the down time because without it, I may not be where I am now.
In 2022 I applied to the online makeup school, QC Makeup Academy to work on getting my makeup certification. I am still working on it, and it's been harder than I expected it to be, but it has definitely been worth it! Thin year I decided to apply for a position as a makeup artist at king's dominion Halloween haunt on a whim. I completely believed that they would not hire me, but then, within the week, they hired me. I was shocked. I had no special effects experience, but they still hired me. I learned everything on the job and soon it became like second nature. I also did their Winterfest. I did some of my proudest work that year and I am so grateful for being a part of the haunt team in 2022.
So far in 2023 I have done a student short film, photo shoots, Halloween Haunt, and I am currently working on a movie. so much has happened this year and I am very grateful for it all, but it's just too much to put in this post lol.
With Love,
REM
